Description
My final (for now) restoration of Brachylophosaurus canadensis, a hadrosaurine from Montana and the Canadian Provinces. This genus lived during the Campanian approximately 75 mya, or during the mid-late Cretaceous. It is closely related to Maiasaura peeblesorum and together they form the family Maiasaurinae.
Our knowledge of Brachylophosaurus has been greatly increased in recent years with the discovery of several very well preserved specimens in the badlands north of Malta, MT. The crenelated dorsal lobes that are depicted in this restoration are real structures based on integumentary fossils in association with a mummified specimen.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish this piece as I wanted to because it was damaged during work by a wonderful little kitten. The background is photoshop work.

This dinosaur is going to be on The Secrets of the Dinosaur Mummy tonight at 9, at the Discovery Channel. I can't wait to see a mummified dinosaur!
